BOSTON -- On Friday, Oct. 21, Free Press and Participant Media will host “'A Robot Sent to Destroy Me': The New Media Invasion and the Future of News.” This panel discussion will explore the influence of new media on the future of news and how this shift impacts the news and information needs of communities across the country. The event will feature clips from the documentary Page One: Inside the New York Times, in which veteran reporter David Carr refers to his younger colleague, Brian Stelter, as a “robot sent to destroy me.”

Panelists include New York Times reporter Brian Stelter, Free Press President and CEO Craig Aaron, Kate Novack, Page One producer, Andrew Rossi, Page One director, Sasha Costanza-Chock, professor of civic media at MIT, and Cindy Rodriguez, journalist-in-residence at Emerson College.
