Eric Thurm

Eric oversees the execution of Free Press Action’s state legislative campaigns, collaborating with journalists, community stakeholders and legislative staff to secure public-policy wins in support of civic media and equitable access to information. Prior to joining Free Press, they led efforts to pass state laws protecting freelance workers as campaigns coordinator for the National Writers Union and as a founding member of the Freelance Solidarity Project. Eric’s writing on politics and culture has appeared in outlets like GQ, The Baffler and Jewish Currents.
