To FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and Commissioners Brendan Carr, Mike O’Rielly, Jessica Rosenworcel and Geoffrey Starks:

Enacting Chairman Pai’s proposed changes to the Lifeline program would make it much harder for millions of poor people to access lifesaving phone and internet services. Low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, people living on tribal lands, veterans, domestic-violence survivors, hurricane victims and people experiencing homelessness all need Lifeline.

There's no reason to move forward with this disastrous plan to sabotage the program. Please leave Lifeline alone.

End the FCC’s War on the Poor

In 2017, the Trump FCC proposed a plan to decimate Lifeline, a program that helps poor people afford lifesaving communication tools. But thanks to people like you that awful plan was stalled (we hoped, indefinitely).

Now, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is back with a new plan to sabotage Lifeline and harm poor people who rely on the program to stay connected. But we’re here to fight back.

Lifeline is incredibly important for low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, people living on tribal lands, veterans, domestic-violence survivors, hurricane victims and people experiencing homelessness. The program provides people who qualify with a modest $9.25 monthly subsidy to connect to phone and/or internet services.
