Sara Jerome
The recording, technology and wireless industries teamed up to say Congress should not mandate cell phone makers to include radio chips on their devices.
Full article: The UpTake
Sam Mayfield
As you might expect, members of the independent media spoken to by The UpTake at the National Conference For Media Reform generally had low opinions of the corporate-owned media. But attendees at the conference are also worried about another corporate ill: the control corporations want to exert over a tool citizens and independent media have been using to go around corporate owned news channels. That tool is your cell phone.

Cecilia Kang
Five European nations launched the first long-term study on the potential effects of mobile phone use on health. This will fulfill a years-long push by some public interest groups and scientists for longer and better studies on the potential health risks of using cellphones. But where is the U.S. -- with 270 million cellphone users -- in this effort?
