Internet censorship. Massive media mergers. Attacks on public and independent media. Not to mention all that slanted, horse race-style election coverage that does nothing to inform or inspire. So what are we going to do about all of it? Simply put, we are working in Washington, D.C and across the nation for media that truly serve the needs of everyday people. That's why Free Press is excited to announce the next National Conference for Media Reform, which will be held in Denver on April 5–7, 2013.

The National Conference for Media Reform is the country's largest conference devoted to media, technology and democracy issues. Thousands of people have joined us over the years to strategize, network, share skills, swap information and inspire one another. We are excited to announce that we'll be in Denver for the sixth NCMR on April 5–7, 2013.

Over the last two weeks, more than 80 Free Press activists from across the country have met with members of Congress and their staff to provide the public's perspective on a range of media issues -- including the AT&T–T-Mobile merger. In these visits policymakers heard not from lobbyists and lawyers but from people who are impacted by the decisions made in Washington.
