Silicon Valley tech companies are expected to benefit greatly from a new plan by the President Barack Obama's administration to increase the amount of wireless spectrum that mobile devices require. Everyone wants their hands on the prime spectrum that will be auctioned off, but the question is how do we use this very important spectrum to better our society and to reduce the federal budget.

Recognizing the pressure carriers are placing on the FCC to avoid reclassification, University of Michigan law professor and former Obama economic adviser Susan Crawford, Columbia Law School professor Tim Wu, and University of Nebraska law professor Marvin Ammori sent a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski outlining the legal argument to reclassify broadband.
