Josh Stearns&lt;br&gt;It’s fitting that the new Ken Burns documentary, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;National Parks: America&amp;#039;s Best Idea&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; -- which captures the uniquely American idea of public lands for all people -- is premiering on America&amp;#039;s public television network, PBS. Just as our national parks are an articulation of democratic ideals, public media has sought to serve the democratic needs of our nation.
