Free Press Calls AT&T’s Net Neutrality Scheme a Bait and Switch

Full article: Free Press
The entire Net Neutrality debate is about the creation of a new system of nondiscrimination that fits broadband networks, not telephone networks. AT&T's new approach to Net Neutrality rules is little more than an effort to cajole a toothless rule out of the FCC.

Court's Decision to Throw Out Cable Ownership Cap Hurts Consumers

Full article: Free Press
That the court tossed out an important public interest protection against excessive media consolidation is regrettable. Congressional intent in the Cable Act of 1992 is very clear -- the goals of federal policy in the cable industry are to promote competition, consumer choice, and a diversity of programming.

Josh Stearns
Will our new media system be a resource for all Americans, an engine for economic growth, and a platform for new forms of art, entertainment, education and information? Or will we let the digital divide grow, expanding the information gap and cutting more people off from the benefits of the Web?
