The journalism industry is evolving under the broad, democratizing influence of the Web. What a "journalist" is and what it means to "publish" will continue to change in the coming years. The idea that the State of Minnesota can restrict the number and kind of press organizations renting space at the Capitol for being partisan, "different" or for publishing in new mediums doesn't belong in a mature understanding of the First Amendment, journalism or free enterprise.

But it turns out covering an election's aftermath isn't quite as remunerative as covering the election itself, and The Uptake is looking for new revenue streams to maintain its staff and citizen journalist trainings.
