Anti-Gay Bias Still Rampant in the Media: When Will Broadcasters Grow Up?

Full article: New York Daily News
Karl Frisch
Filling the ranks of every media outlet, including those with a conservative slant, to be sure, one would certainly find at least a few gay, lesbian and transgender employees -- some in positions of real power. It's long past time for these employees to stand up and unflinchingly say, "Enough is enough." To remain publicly silent would be an outrage.

Paul Janensch
Conservative radio talk show hosts continue to raise fears about the liberal hold on media and the return of the Fairness Doctrine. Both ideas are myths.

Was the Press Really Strongly Biased Against McCain?

Greg Mitchell
It may yet turn out that major, exhaustive studies will prove that the media were grossly unfair to John McCain. Bring them on. But two major studies don't do that. They say that the press is biased -- in favor of recognizing who is winning and stating that perhaps too often.

Journalists Give Workers the Business

David Madland
A new report finds that media coverage of economic issues fails to live up to expectations of balance and fairness. On a range of economic issues, the perspective of workers is largely missing from media coverage, while the views of business are frequently presented.

Citoyen Consumer: Disengagement, Disempowerment and Corporate Media Bias

Rich Broderick
The real bias of mainstream media is neither conservative nor liberal, Republican nor Democratic. The real "bias" in mainstream media is to promote values and behaviors that make us good consumers -- which is antithetical to good citizenship.
