Eco-media in the Arts: Transnational Temps

Why "Earth Art for the 21st Century"? Like a lot of people, the artists who formed Transnational Temps in 2001 (info about the collective follows this article) sensed that coverage of global warming and other environmental issues was woefully inadequate. Commercially sponsored "informative" programming continues to suffer from attention deficit disorders, to say nothing of conflicts of interest. The Internet has presented a means to address the situation.

Join Us In Minneapolis

As many of you already know, Headzup's satirical cartoons have been known to traverse the globe within minutes of publication by being passed from cell phone to cell phone as forwarded picture messages. By carefully crafting our daily cartoons to "fly under the radar" of monopolistic mobile network operators, we are working to establish an early beachhead from which other progressive voices can be heard.

Homogenization of Radio: Let us all give thanks and pay grateful homage to Clear Channel

Like a beast from the blackness it came, sending shivers down the spine of indie artists, DJs, and listeners everywhere. A force unparalleled in its hunger to consume, it cast a dark shadow across the nation. Forcing mediocre formulaic music and political censorship down the throats of the American people, it became obvious that we would all have to bow down and worship the new radio gods, Clear Channel. A conglomerate like any other, only this corporate money machine would attack our art by becoming the ultimate gatekeeper in the world of music.

”…the role of advocate is, no matter what kind of information comes out, to sort of disparage it, and, you know, they’re fighting for a result, not the truth. And they already think they know the truth..”

The Great American Horse Race

On November 2004, I was just a year younger that the required legal voting age. As a senior in high school, I felt that I had a great right (I felt superior because I was an upperclassman) to participate in our country’s most important decision: voting for the next President. I had a mini rant amongst my group of friends, as we joked about petitioning to lower the legal voting age.

More suppresed news you may have missed, 46 stories from Feb. at Joe's Union Review

I got myself 46 stories in 26 days of Feb, quite a few are in the suppressed news catagory. Some articles cover the gamut of ideals seen here at freepress. Most of them go back to the idea that there is a war on the middle class worker here in the US and around the entire globe. Take a look, let me know what you think.
