Eagles Singer Don Henley: EFF, Google 'Aid and Abet' Criminals

Full article: Ars Technica
Nate Anderson
According to a recent op-ed from Eagles singer Don Henley, blocking foreign "rogue" websites, banning them from search engines, and cutting off their advertising and credit cards is "common sense." Henley supports the controversial PROTECT IP Act currently suffering a legislative hold in the Senate thanks to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). Those who have issues with the bill include the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Google -- and Henley suggests that both are borderline complicit in criminal activity because of their resistance.

EFF Urges FCC to Fix Wimpy Neutrality Proposals

Full article: Broadband Reports
Karl Bode
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, recently wrote a letter to the FCC complaining that the FCC's proposed Net Neutrality guidelines may not be enforceable in their current state. According to EFF, the FCC's proposals contain language loopholes that would allow carriers to engage in discriminatory behavior under the context of copyright enforcement.

EFF Demands FCC Close Copyright "Loophole" in Net Neutrality

Nate Anderson
The Electronic Frontier Foundation might be expected to love the FCC's "Open Internet" push, but the group has one big concern with the rulemaking: the presence of "a loophole for copyright enforcement in its proposed regulations for Network Neutrality."

Privacy in Online Behavioral Tracking and Targeting -- It's Time to Protect Consumers

Full article: Electronic Frontier Foundation
Rebecca Jeschke
A coalition of consumer and privacy groups called on Congress to protect Americans' privacy from invasive online behavioral tracking and targeting. The groups likened the tracker to being followed by an invisible stalker -- individuals aren't aware that it's happening, who is tracking them, and how the information will be used.

EFF Launches Copyright Curriculum to Counter RIAA Propaganda Being Handed Out to Schools

Full article: TechDirt
Mike Masnick
For years various schools have simply accepted propaganda and totally inaccurate "teaching materials" from the recording and motion picture industries about copyright and used them to teach students. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has launched a much more accurate and reasonable curriculum that was actually created by those who know the subject matter, rather than corporate execs and lobbyists.
