Angry Talk on MSNBC and Fox Is Bad for the Nation

Full article: Baltimore Sun
David Zarawik
A democracy is only as strong as the quality of information its citizens receive, and while these two operations call themselves news channels, they are in truth opinion channels, venues of highly charged, partisan ideology. And that is bad for this country -- very bad.

Friedman and the High Cost of Speaking

Full article: Los Angeles Times
James Rainey
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman was paid $75,000 for a speech sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area's clean air district, which is a violation of the Times' ethics guidelines. Friedman has since given the money back, but the time has come for influential journalists like Friedman to disclose their substantial sources of outside income.
