In order to become a broadcaster, Comcast has to toughen up its public-interest creds. But there's a whole community of people that know Cocmast has not lived up to its public interest obligations, especially when it comes to localism. Perhaps the white hot scrutiny of the Fair Trade Commission, Justice Department and FCC will offer Comcast a chance to prove it can live up to its promises.
