FairPoint in Talks to Revamp Its Debt

FairPoint said it is in talks with some of its lenders about restructuring its debt, which could lead to a bankruptcy filing. The phone company was weighed down by its $2.3 billion acquisition of Verizon's landlines in New England. The acquisition took it from being a small rural operator to the eighth-largest American phone company.
