Judiciary Will Take Another Crack at Shield Law

The Senate Judiciary Committee has rescheduled a hearing on the federal shield law for Sept. 24. The bill originally passed in the House by a voice vote in March. Republicans have raised concerns that the law tilts too much in favor of journalist protections and away from the interests of law enforcement and national security.
