Shield Law Would Exclude Unpaid Journalists

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to exclude unpaid journalists from protection under a pending media shield bill. The Free Flow of Information Act would grant legal protection to journalists that want to protect the identities of confidential sources who want to divulge newsworthy information to reporters without fear of retribution.
