Big Firms Will Not Participate in Broadband Program

Three of the country's largest Internet service providers do not plan on applying for funds under the $7.2 billion program to deploy high-speed Internet service across the country. Comcast, AT&T and Verizon have all said that the program was designed for smaller service providers looking to increase Internet connections rather than big companies that already have large coverage areas.
