FCC Opens Inquiry on Radio's Opposition to Song Royalties .

The FCC is seeking public comment on allegations that radio broadcasters are "targeting and threatening" musicians who have spoken out in favor of performance royalties for airplay. The FCC is responding to a petition filed by the MusicFIRST coalition, which has been lobbying aggressively for legislation requiring radio stations to pay royalties to performers.
