Broadband Internet access across the United States is one step closer to becoming a reality, as the FCC closed the first comment period on the development of a national broadband plan. Major players weighed in on the extension of broadband coverage to rural communities, the need for broadband access in community facilities, and issues surrounding competition and Net Neutrality.
