The government should be concentrating on stimulus funding for projects that can create jobs right away and holds the promise for long-term economic payoff. Laying broadband fiber creates immediate jobs. But more importantly, it holds the promise of a long-term economic payoff by attracting companies to out-of-the-way towns, and helping new businesses gain a foothold.
