Chicago TV Manager Says Station's Independence Is Too Important for Crew-Sharing

The general manager at the ABC-owned WLS-Channel 7 in Chicago opeted out of a new venture between four other area TV stations to pool camera crews. Emily Barr said joining the pool would strip WLS of some, if not all, of what the station most zealously seeks to safeguard: its image as an independent Chicago news operation.
