Free Press Summit: Changing Media

Free Press is changing politics as usual in Washington, and we want you to have a seat at the table. Join us at the Newseum in D.C. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a unique, innovative event that will reshape the future of communications. Sign up now to join the waiting list, and we will contact you as soon as a seat becomes available.

Free Press Summit: Changing Media will feature speeches from key policymakers like Acting FCC Chairman Michael Copps and Susan Crawford of President Obama's National Economic Council, discussions with public interest advocates and industry innovators, and a people-powered deliberation about the public interest policies needed in today’s changing media landscape. The summit will also feature a panel presentation including former FCC Chairmen Reed Hundt and Michael Powell.

Through interactive discussions, we will highlight the importance of putting the public interest first in media policymaking. Universal, open and affordable Internet access, diverse media ownership, quality journalism and vibrant public media are at the core of this public interest policy agenda.

Together, we can reshape the future of journalism, public media and the Internet.
