New York's WNBC-TV is shedding high-priced talent and turning the newsroom into a "content center" that produces stories for multiple outlets, but viewers aren't buying it. Some of WNBC's troubles are of its own making. But it had help from the last-place prime-time performance of NBC and the cost-cutting culture of parent company General Electric.
