Malcolm MacPherson, a former foreign correspondent for Newsweek whose novels and nonfiction books dealt with subjects as varied as Disneyland, the Iraq war and special operations in Afghanistan, died on Jan. 17 after collapsing during a party at a friend's house in Chevy Chase, Md. He was 65.
