Governor Said to Push for Firings at Chicago Paper

One day after the Tribune Company filed for bankruptcy protection, federal law enforcment officials said that Governor Rod Blagojevich (D-Ill.) had been illegally threatening to withhold the state's help in a business deal, unless the Chicago Tribune newspaper fired editorial writers who had criticized the governor and called for his impeachment.
