Santa Fe Shoots Down 'Wireless Allergy' Group

Broadband Reports

I recently mentioned [1] how a group of Santa Fe residents were attempting to get all public Wi-Fi hotspots in the city banned because they irritated their supposed electrical sensitivity allergies. Despite the fact there's no scientific evidence that Wi-Fi is actually harmful, the groups claimed that ignoring the city's decision to ignore their plight and install hotspots in public places violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. This AP Report [2] says the city is moving forward with the plan, though opponents say "they're inviting a lawsuit." Again, it would seem like someone, somewhere would need to prove these allergies are actually real before there's talk of violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act -- or lawsuits.
