BREAKING: Watch Bill Moyers Speech from Minneapolis

Legendary journalist Bill Moyers electrified an audience of more than 3,500 in Minneapolis this morning calling the media reform movement "the most significant citizens' movement to emerge in this new century."

Moyers said that the work of activists like you has "challenged the stranglehold of mega-media corporations over our press" and fostered "alternative and independent sources of news and information that people can trust."

"You're not alone, and you know what we need to know," he told the audience. "So it's up to you to tell the truth about this country we love. ... It's up to you to remind us that democracy only works when ordinary people claim it as their own."

Moyers

Bill Moyers is a fraud. His trashing of Reverand Wright was unforgivable. Obviously, he had not read or seen Reverent Wright's comments at the press club. Instead, he accepted the Fox News version and with the cowardly Obama condemned Rev. Wright.

Rev. Wright gave a stunning speech in which he pointed out that he himself had served in the military unlike the chicken hawks like Dick Cheney. After the speech, a Fox News type moderator had tried to trick Rev. Wright asking about whether the U.S. government had casued the AIDS epidemic. Rev. Wright said from what he knew about the U.S. government including the Tuskegee syphillis experiment that it was capable of such a thing. Obama went ballistic. Moyers said he had no choice but to disown his minister. Shame on Bill Moyers. Racism won the day. And shame on the cowardly Obama who has no integrity. We should be debating issues. At a conference for media reform having the sellout Bill Moyers as keynote is an insult.

HUH???

One of us is crazy. Maybe me.

I watched Bill Moyers interview Rev. Wright. I thought it was an excellent venue and opportunity (provided by Bill) for Rev. Wright to clarify his position. In fact, he showed a clip from the speech that contained the infamous quote.

The Media, not Bill Moyers, took the words of Rev. Wright OUT OF CONTEXT; in effect, trashing Rev. Wright.

Bill Moyers gave him the opportunity to clarify and explain. To set the record straight.

How does this translate into Bill trashing him????
