Why I am Going to the National Conference For Media Reform

America is crumbling. We have come so far down a forsaken road, allowing fear to shape our destinies through submission to a two-dimensional truth. What have we profited? What good has come of it? I say to you that human beings sell out their divinity to their lesser natures the instant they choose to swallow the bitter pill of denial. And what else can you say of a nation who allows a spoiled schoolyard bully and his gang of miscreants to steal their country and take control of their lives and the lives of their children, ultimately leading them down a road to ruin and slavery? In a few years, I may not be allowed to write words like these. I may not be given the right to speak ill of the lunatics that pretend to govern us in our best interests, because unless my eyes are too jaded to see clearly, they are very good at getting what they want. And what they want my friends, is complete unequivocal control.

Freedom is something my generation doesn’t fully understand, having had no stake in the real fight for it, nor the grasp of the need to participate in the maintenance of it. Freedom is something we grew up reading about in textbook accounts of revolutions. The magicians in government who would rule us as slaves teach us the American Revolution as misdirection. With one side of their mouth they speak of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the ugly imperialist monarchy of Great Britain. Then with the other side, they tell us to be afraid and surrender our liberty for some temporary safety. Ashamedly, we have done so, and deserve neither. We the people are taught nationalism in the guise of patriotism, allegiance to the homeland under any circumstances, else you be labeled. Un-American. Communist. Terrorist. Love it or leave it. Well, my friends, I love it, but I will not and cannot excuse the sins of my country against the exploited peoples of the world, nor against my own nation. We are in need of a major revolution, and that requires solidarity among the people, of which there is a dire need and little promise.

Therefore, I make the following accusations.

One. That all major media outlets in America are owned and operated by private corporations and are providing the citizens of this country with consistently false information for the purposes of keeping the public uninformed of the real events taking place in the world.

Two. That this disinformation campaign has led to a gross abuse of power in government resulting in mass deaths, warmongering and profiteering, public division, and deterioration of sovereignty of the United States, among other countries.

Three. That this propaganda machine is electing our presidents, affecting legislation, and creating unjust wars by insidiously influencing public opinion with lies.

Four. This has created a state of fascism in the United States.

That is why I am going to Minneapolis, MN to attend the National Conference on Media Reform hosted by the Free Press. Because I have had enough, and want to meet more people who feel that way too. And maybe together we can find some ways to do something about it. Otherwise, one day Fox News will be reporting on why we should all give thanks and rejoice that God has ordained George W. Bush to be King of Pangea.
