Quest For Broadband in Georgia

I will begin by saying that my quest for broadband access started about 2 years ago, but I have been frustrated at every turn. I have seen AT&T\Bellsouth trash my dial-up to the point I can no longer connect at any speed above 24k after having a solid connection in the high 40's for years. Multiple complaints to the FCC and the Georgia PSC have fallen on deaf ears. I even tried to get sattilitte internet but a tree blocks my line of sight. Because of rules imposed on them during the merger AT&T has almost shut down expansion of DSL in Georgia and I'm running out of options. However, I will not quit until I get them to expand the service the last 2.6 miles to my home.
