Action Alert: Stop the FCC from Gutting Media Ownership Rules

This week media ownership became a hot issue on Capitol Hill. In response to news that FCC Chairman Kevin Martin intented to push through a vote on sweeping rule changes that would let Big Media get even bigger, Sen. Byron Dorgan warned, “If the chairman intends to do something by the end of the year, then there will be a firestorm of protest and I’m going to be carrying the wood.”

Within 24 hours, Sen. Dorgan and Sen. Trent Lott had released a joint letter calling on Kevin Martin to slow down and take more time to address issues like localism, the public interest, and minority ownership.

You can help.
Let's not let Sen. Dorgan carry the wood alone. We need you to call on your members of Congress to hold the FCC accountable. Tell them you won't stand for any more media consoldation. Take action now.
