National Conference for Media Reform
Posted on October 8.2007 by yolandafp
Mark your calendar: the next National Conference for Media Reform will be in Minneapolis on June 6-8, 2008. Once again, thousands of activists,
media makers, educators, journalists, policymakers and concerned
citizens will converge and call for lasting changes
to the media.
As we begin to plan for the 2008 conference, we want to hear your thoughts from the 2007 conference and what you would like to see next year in Minneapolis. Please reply to this post (or create your own blog post) to give us your feedback.
In 2007, more than
3,000 people connected, strategized and drew inspiration from rousing
speeches, provocative panel discussions and hands-on workshops focused
on all aspects of the media. Many participants from the 2007 National Conference for Media Reform in Memphis told us it was one of the most inspiring and worthwhile events they'd ever attended. Find out why:

Very Bad Conference Video
I love the purpose of the conference...
But...
I can't believe the VERY BAD VIDEO...!!!
Tv school interns could've done better, and this is deplorable considering the room is full of broadcasters...
Bad camera work, Bad lighting...
Who is the Director..???
And the halfway point, after Keith Kamisugi introduced George Curry (sp?) he went on to introduce Dr Dcystal Brentzuk (sp?) and even though Keith said "and to YOUR LEFT (of George Curry)is Dr Crystal Brentzuk, the camera went to the RIGHT, and just stayed there...
Obviously the Director, the Technical Director, & the Cameraperson ALL were clearly not listening to the host making the introductions, and this looked dumb, very VERY dumb...
Also, taking a camera shot of the big projector screen to air clips is a real cheesy way to do it...why not take a direct feed into the video switcher..???
Again, I'm blown away of the irony of a media conference with such completely amateurish coverage of the event itself, and it REALLY detracts from just how serious folks are going to take this impotrtant conference..
This TV broadcast has little, if any, production values, and I don't mean to be overly harsh, but, come on folks, get it together, because the video of this conference is plain flat out embaressing...
Can you dig it..???
