Mariana Castañeda

Mariana Castañeda is a native southwest Detroiter. From a young age, she has been involved in a number of different nonprofit organizations, all working through a variety of means for the development of a just, inclusive, supportive society. Since high school, she has been involved with Detroit Summer. She hopes to one day collaborate with other artists and use her passion for dance and experience with Detroit Summer's Live Arts Media Project to create and run an organization that teaches visual, performing and media arts to youth free of charge, focusing on how art can be used in social justice movements.
