Norman Solomon
Norman Solomon is executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy. He is the author of 12 books including War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death, which the Los Angeles Times called "brutally persuasive" and "a must-read for those who would like greater context with their bitter morning coffee, or to arm themselves for the debates about Iraq that are still to come." The newspaper's reviewer added, "Solomon is a formidable thinker and activist." The Media Education Foundation has adapted War Made Easy into an acclaimed documentary film of the same name. Solomon is a recipient of the George Orwell Award for Distinguished Contribution to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language as well as the Annual Ruben Salazar Journalism Award. With colleagues at the Institute for Public Accuracy, he organized three peace missions to Baghdad prior to the invasion of Iraq. A longtime associate of the media watchdog group FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting), Solomon has been writing a nationally syndicated column on media and politics since 1992. His latest book is Made Love, Got War: Close Encounters with America's Warfare State.
