Joel Kelsey
Joel Kelsey is a policy analyst of federal and international affairs for Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports. Working out of the New York and Washington offices, Joel advocates on communications policy issues and manages the grassroots component of Consumers Union's media reform and telecommunications work. He is responsible for working closely with state and federal policy makers, community leaders and citizen activists throughout the country. Prior to joining Consumers Union, Joel served as chairperson for the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) and later worked as NYPIRG's New York City outreach director and then as the statewide campaigns coordinator. At NYPIRG, he worked on higher education policy, New York City land-use issues and fought to pass the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act.
