Erica Swanson
Erica Swanson is deputy director of field operations for the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR). Since joining the LCCR in 2004, Erica has developed strategies for grassroots campaigns on a range of issues, including Supreme Court nominations, renewal of the Voting Rights Act, and employment discrimination. Erica also supports the efforts of LCCR's coalition organizations in educating and mobilizing their respective members, and helps to build coalition-model organizing campaigns in key states. Currently, she leads LCCR's campaign to educate and prepare affected communities for the February 17, 2009, digital television transition. Erica has previously worked for Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.); as coordinator of a bipartisan, national network of women state legislators; for the Polk County (Iowa) Democrats; and as an organizer for an issue-based caucus campaign. She has an M.A. in public policy and women's studies from the George Washington University.
