Jennifer Pozner

Women In Media & News (WIMN)

Jennifer L. Pozner is founder and executive director of Women In Media & News (WIMN), a media justice group dedicated to increasing women's presence and power in the public debate through media analysis, education and advocacy. She is also managing editor of WIMN's Voices, the popular women's media monitoring group blog. Pozner lectures on women, media, politics and pop culture for colleges and high schools nationwide, and conducts media trainings for women-led social justice groups. She has been published in corporate news outlets (eg, Newsday, Chicago Tribune, Boston Phoenix), independent media (eg, Ms., Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, In These Times) and online outlets (eg, the American Prospect, AlterNet, WomensEnews), and numerous anthologies. She has offered media commentary on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC News Now, Comedy Central's The Daily Show and various radio programs. In 2006, she was honored as one of "The Real Hot 100," a Girls in Government project honoring young women leaders making change in their communities. Her book on sexism and racism in reality television is forthcoming from Seal Press in Fall 2009.
