Shawn Chang

Deputy Policy Director Shawn Chang works with policy and research staff to develop and implement political strategies and build new coalitions. Shawn also plays a leading role in creating Free Press' legislative agenda and maintaining a lobbying presence in Washington. Prior to joining Free Press, Shawn served as legislative assistant to Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), advising on telecommunications, commerce and intellectual property issues. Shawn also has served as legislative assistant for Rep. Diane E. Watson (D-Calif.) and Rep Patsy T. Mink (D-Hawaii). He holds his bachelor's degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and is currently pursuing his J.D. at George Washington University.
