Angela Campbell
Angela Campbell is director of the First Amendment and Media Project (formerly known as the Citizens Communications Center) at the Institute for Public Representation, a public interest law firm and clinical education program at Georgetown University Law Center. The clinic provides free legal assistance to nonprofit organizations such as Free Press, Common Cause, Children's Media Policy Coalition and United Church of Christ, that advocate for communications policy in the public interest. Professor Campbell successfully argued the appeal of the FCC's broadcast ownership rules in Prometheus Radio Project v. FCC in 2004 and is currently working on the appeal of the most recently adopted broadcast ownership rules. She has advocated for public interest policies at the FCC on such topics as children's television and advertising, public interest obligations for digital television and digital radio, enhanced public disclosure for broadcast stations, cable leased access, and equal employment opportunity. Prior to joining Georgetown Law, Campbell was an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and an associate with a law firm. She holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, and a B.A. from Hampshire College.
