This workshop will focus on some successful strategies that have been utilized by organizations using hip hop as an organizing tool in urban communities. Discussions will include case studies of strategies used in Seattle, Chicago, Minneapolis and Silicon Valley that connect independent media production to social justice movement work. This will be an interactive workshop, offering ways to get involved locally, regionally and nationally.
