Grassroots Lobbying 101: How to Design and Win Policy Fights

Date: Saturday, June 7th
Time: 8:30am to 10:00am
Room: 205 C D
Track: Media Policy
Session Type: workshop

It's time to demystify what goes down in the halls of power. Legislators hear every day from Big Media lobbyists, and the public loses out. This highly interactive and collaborative workshop teaches the simple basics of direct advocacy that every citizen and community group can do. Using the case study of expanding community radio as an example, we will model and practice how to win over legislators with the power of you and your neighbors. Expect to leave with a how-to-win kit you can use the minute you get home.
