Despite Economy, Mergers and Acquisitions Activity Thrives

Mergers and acquisitions proceeded at a healthy clip in the first quarter of 2008 -- even with the economy looking shaky, according to figures from the Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc., an investment bank which helps broker deals and also tracks buyouts in the media world. Overall, there were 202 transactions with a total value of $13.4 billion in the first three months of 2008.
