The Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA) is a nonpartisan research and educational organization which conducts scientific studies of the news and entertainment media. The Center's goal is to provide an empirical basis for ongoing debates over media fairness and impact through well-documented, timely, and readable studies of media content.

Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media and universal access to communications.
