Local Community Radio Act of 2007 (S. 1675/H.R. 2802)

By Migrated Content

The Local Community Radio Act (S. 1675), introduced by Sens. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), would open the radio dial to more Low Power FM (LPFM) radio stations. These stations are community driven and locally oriented, providing news and information often ignored by mainstream radio.

A companion bill, H.R. 2802, was introduced in the House by Rep. Michael Doyle (D-Pa).
