White Spaces Act of 2007 (S. 337)
The White Spaces Act of 2007 (S. 337), introduced by Sen. John Sununu (R-N.H.), would direct the Federal Communications Commission to free up "white spaces," or unused portions of the broadcast spectrum, by October 1, 2007, in the interest of promoting technological development.
Unlike the Wireless Innovation Act (S. 234) introduced by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), this bill would not require that freed-up spectrum be allocated for unlicensed use.
