Kathmandu, Nepal — Dozens of journalists arrested this week while protesting media restrictions in Nepal walked free Thursday when the government released them following an appeal on their behalf by a New York-based media rights group.

The government gave no reason for its release of all 53 journalists arrested at a rally on Wednesday.
