A key state senator said Monday he did not support provisions in a bill that would make it easier for phone companies to offer TV service.

The House gave final approval Monday to a Senate bill that would allow phone companies to get one TV franchise from the state rather than require them to go to each city for a franchise, which cable companies must do.
