The top U.S. telecommunications regulator today said his agency might act to prevent Internet service providers including Comcast Corp. from interfering with some Web services.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin spoke at a field hearing he convened in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to examine complaints about Comcast.
