People that were trapped in their homes during the floods last year had power and cable TV, but they didn't have land-line phone service and cell phone service was spotty at best.
Sure, there were images on the floods on Channel 7 and Channel 9, but they weren't able to give people the type of information they needed if they wanted to venture out of their house.
