The City of Orangeburg will challenge Time Warner's petition to deregulate basic cable services in the area, saying it could lead to a loss of services and higher costs for users.

Orangeburg City Council on Tuesday unanimously voted to join other municipalities that have hired an attorney to fight the petition.
